Cable

You need of course a cable to link your HP to your PC.

Contact HP to buy the cable and software to use the HP with your Computer.

You can also find information on doing it at several www-pages like: http://www.uv.es/~iranzop/hp48/index.htm (Spanish, but cable wirings are clear to do)

Calculator settings

To transfer files you first have to set your calculator as follow :

• port : Wire
• type : Kermit
• fmt : BIN
• xlat : ->255
• chk : 1
• baud : 9600 for HP48, 15360 for HP49
• parity : none

Then choose where you want to put your files on your HP48:

Press then to put your HP in server mode. You should now see :

Transfer

Then you can transfer your file.

Select the COM port you want to use, the speed (9600 for HP48, 15360 for HP49), the files you want to transfer and press "Transfer files" button.

Files are now being transferred

Other transfer programs

WinHP can transfer files to your HP but you can also download some others programs which can transfer files to and from the HP if WinHP is not enough.
